ERICA KIBBE Erica was raised in central Maine where her teaching experience involved peer tutoring throughout high school. Her main experience with the profession has been on the receiving end, although she helped with enrichments for elementary students while in high school. After Erica graduated, she worked at a summer camp for youth of all ages where she gained valuable experience with energetic children. She came to Cofradia with the hope of enriching children's lives through learning. Although Erica attends Smith College with the goal of a degree in Computer Engineering, she feels there are many lessons she can abstract from her Smith education and apply to CBS. Erica is our current second grade teacher. |

HELENA PORRELLI Helena grew up on the small Hebridean island of Coll in Scotland, where she received a fantastic primary school education. Having only just left high school, she had little teaching experience before coming to Honduras. In the past few months she's suddenly become extremely grateful for that primary school experience and has been inspired to give the Honduran children a taste of it. Helena is here in Cofradia as a Project Trust volunteer. Project Trust is a charity which sends volunteers abroad to spend a whole year in an entirely different culture, and Helena was presented with the opportunity to come to Honduras, to Cofradia's Bilingual School. Helena is currently one of our Kindergarten teachers in the morning, and she is an assistant in the second grade classroom in the afternoons. |
