Anyone can be a part of our Global Adventure in Learning

CBS always has something you can do to help. We work hard every year on our 100% Internet based recruiting program to find the very best group of teachers we can find. We also don't believe in turning away anyone who really wants to help. We welcome both long and short term volunteers.  Our best accomadations go to the people with the longest commitments, however we nearly always have something available even on short notice. We can nearly always find something challanging and meaningful for you to do, if you have the desire to work with some of the less fortunate children on the planet, the energy to keep up with them and a good command of the English language.

Our commitment to you is to all we can to make your stay as enjoyable as possible within the cultural parameters that surround us. You will be known in the community as one of the teachers at the best school in town. You will be closely studied and talked about. Joining the CBS team has been called a cultural immersion experience and that's only half the picture. It can be both a spiritual and an emotional adventure while being one of the hardest jobs you will ever take on.  The only guarantee we can really give you is that a year as a teacher at CBS has the potential to change what you do with the rest of your life. The learning curve can be steep and a little rough at times but the memories of the adventure will stay with you long after you are back home, working two jobs to keep up.

We can also use people who would rather not teach. If you have a desire to help with construction, landscaping, cooking, vehicle maintainence, gardening or looking after animals (horses, chickens, ducks, turkeys, iguannas, parrots or fish) and can get yourself to San Pedro Sula airport [code: SAP], send us an email and we will happily discuss the details.

Meet our International Volunteer Team
At Cofradia's Bilingual School, we depend on our international volunteer teacher team to bring our vision of multi-cultural education to life.
We carefully select teachers from all over the world who have a wide array of skills and experience, and the resulting cultural mix is always as equally rewarding for the teachers as it is for the students. Our team this year consists of 12 teachers from Canada, Scotland, Austria, USA and Australia. In previous years we have also been fortunate to welcome volunteers from Italy, Holland, Belgium, United Kingdom, Germany, France and Latvia.

Anyone Anywhere Can Help

In addition to coming down for a visit, joining our team or donating through the "Hope for Tomorrow" foundation, we are always very happy to receive letters, photos and local information (from where you live) to share with the children of Cofradia. All of us, where ever we are can help these children really understand the meaning of "COFRADIA". The town is named after the "brotherhood" of monks who once lived here. Is it too far-fetched to imagine that we could use our connections in Cyberspace to have it remembered in the future as where we showed the children what it means to really be part of the Global "COFRADIA" of Man? Send us an email with an attached photo. Let a child know who you are, where you live and what you do. Ask him/her a question that interests you. Reach out to a child in friendship. Allow them to reach back to you.

Sponsor A Child's Education

All of the children pictured above (with 133 others) need help to cover the costs involved in their education. Some of them will need it for many years if they are to achieve their current dreams. Some of them come from families who can and do contribute something every month, while others are financially unable to contribute even a healthy daily lunch. All of them are currently receiving both an excellent bilingual education and a healthy daily lunch. Now it is time to tell the social consciousness of Cyberspace that we need to find Sponsors for some of these children if we are to survive as a school that continues to offer a quality education without "Parents Ability to Pay" being an admission requirement.

The most precious gift you can give and something they can never lose.

"An Education"

If you would like to take an interest in a child's education, with or without offering any financial assistance, CBS wants to hear from you. We are looking for sponsors, mentors and friends for lots of active young minds, just starting out on a completely new educational and cultural adventure. If you would like help any of these kids and are subject to US taxes, contributions can be sent through the Hope for Tomorrow Foundation in Massachusetts.
